A balancing act in a his-and-hers bathroom

Agreeing on the brief for this bathroom was a major task of the project. It included a mix of preferences between traditional and contemporary, elegant and approachable. As it’s a master bathroom in a couple’s apartment, it needed to allow for parallel use for two people. Being neither too feminine, nor too masculine. Symmetry became an aesthetic reflection of the brief and the entry point to the design concept, broken up by the details to avoid predictability. The vanity cabinet was tailor made from stained oak to accommodate both his and hers toiletries. It’s been all about the balance.
Getting up is much easier since this bathroom is the first place I go to in the morning.
